I have always loved languages, and I therefore chose to pursue my studies in Applied Foreign Languages for business and trade, in Italian, English, Spanish and Portuguese. I was able to travel a lot during my student years, particularly to England, where I worked for four months. I also spent a year studying at Pompeu Fabra University in Barcelona and a semester at Coimbra University in Portugal. I graduated with a Master II degree in International Trade, specialising in European Project Management.
After graduating, I went to live in Italy for two years, where I began my career in European project coordination, a field in which I worked for ten years. This experience enabled me to improve my knowledge of the legal and financial aspects of European legal documents.
Still as keen as ever on languages, in 2010, I started out as a translator in parallel to my salaried employment, before deciding to devote all of my time to the profession in 2016.
Through my academic and professional background, I have gained the knowledge required to produce accurate translations that are true to the source document, while respecting the rules of translating and the terminology specific to each field.
Since February 2022, I am a sworn translator in Italian.
Sandrine Michel
I have always had a passion for languages so I quite naturally decided to opt for foreign language studies. After completing a two-year course in English, I took a year out to spend ten months in England, and two in Spain, before enrolling in Applied Foreign Languages for business and trade, in English, Spanish and Portuguese, with an option in Italian.
While I was studying, thanks to the Erasmus programme and to bilateral agreements between universities, I was able to spend a year in Madrid and a semester in Rome. I then earned a Master II degree in English translation, specialising in economic and legal translation, from Paris X University.
I was still an undergraduate when I began to gain experience in translating, by doing internships each year with freelance translators or in translation agencies. At the end of my studies, I completed a three-month internship in the translation department of the European Parliament in Luxembourg.
I then continued to hone my skills by working with a certified legal translator for two years.
Thanks to all this experience, I was able to discover the different aspects of the translating profession and consolidate my knowledge in languages, and in law and finance. Building on this background, I began working freelance in 2009, and today, I am able to provide quality translations while respecting the specificities of each document and topic area.
Since 2017, I am a sworn translator in ItalianEnglish.
